Al Houghton has been writing and producing music for 30 years. He
founded Dubway Studios
as a modest underground recording facility in the mid-1980's. Since
then he has recorded hundreds of artists in a vast array of styles
& contexts (including They Might Be Giants, Alicia Keys, Dr. John,
David Byrne, Angelo Badalamenti, Jules Shear, and Suzanne Vega.)
An active guitarist in NYC's music scene, he has composed & produced
music for many live performing acts and record releases. As the
studio expanded into a full service audio post & audio production
facility, Houghton has found creative opportunities in film & television
as well, working with Nick, Jr., MTV & VH1. His responsibilities
as owner of Dubway Studios aside, Houghton currently performs with
Fang recording artists & NYC denizens, Life
